In 2013 I impulse-purchased a fat fluffy TB project horse named Jerry off of Facebook, sight unseen, just because I had a good feeling about him from his pictures. I sent the $900 purchase price via PayPal that morning, the seller quickly got a coggins pulled, and a friend picked him up for me in Arkansas that afternoon – it was that quick! When Jerry made it to Texas his name became Henry, and a few months later we started showing in the jumpers, did the hunters once, then found our way to eventing a year later. From his very first cross country fence it was clear that we’d found his calling, and we gradually climbed the levels, eventually competing at the Preliminary level. Henry is absolutely my heart horse and has made things possible for me that I had never even dared to dream of before I knew him.

These days Henry is enjoying a quieter life, largely retired from competition, and I have a 2017 homebred gelding named Presto that is now beginning his eventing career. Presto is out of Sadie, my first ever homebred, making him a second generation for me. My love for all things related to sporthorse breeding began a couple decades ago, and I am a certified breeding nerd for sure. Sadie is by Westporte (Wolkentanz / Fabriano) out of a TB mare, and Presto’s sire is the eventing stallion Mighty Magic (Mytens xx / Heraldik xx). Presto was purpose-bred for eventing and has taken to it like a duck to water, so I’m very excited to see what we can accomplish together in the future!         You wrote a review on pioneer boots, Can I ask you how these are for you now? I have the same ones but the elasticated leather has cracked and just wondered had this happened to you also.
